This is for the breakfast buffet at Vu, while staying at the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City. The view is gorgeous, of the water and Manhattan. They keep on saying that there is a view of the Statue of Liberty, but I really could not see it from where I sat. But don't go by me, I'm extremely near-sighted.
I had a breakfast that was included with my stay. It was the hot buffet that included eggs, bacon, sausage, vegetables such as broccoli and cauliflower (very unusual for a breakfast buffet), fruit, yogurt, muffins, etc. The most memorable item was the strong pot of coffee that the waiter left at the table. I drank the whole pot by myself while admiring the view. I think it was Starbucks.
The pineapple was very sweet. The breakfast buffet is around $30 with tax and service fees.
It is very convenient to have breakfast at the hotel. The view is truly spectacular. -

You're really just coming here for the view, but unless you're here as a guest eating breakfast, you may not see it (except from the side).
My husband got sick so we couldn't stay for drinks, but regardless, the restaurant was closed off at the very front of the building which faces the water-that's where the real view is.
They have couches and lounges a plenty-think hotel lobby bar, because it won't be a quiet intimate experience. There are games and kids running around, so just keep that in mind depending on the occasion you're coming for.
The good news: when we do come back and try a cocktail, I spied the bartender from Antique Bar &Bakery who makes phenomenal craft cocktails, so at least you're getting a quality mixologist!
We'll stop back another time, and when we do, I'll update the review! -

You go there for the view- not the food. We had a table by the glass at dinnertime & saw the manhattan skyline as the sun set. Beautiful!
I did like that they had gluten free vegetarian options. I have celiac & usually fancy restaurants don't work for me. My dinner was great. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals.
The service was just ok. My husband ordered a 2nd drink & it took 15 minutes for someone to bring it. Plus i ordered an aperol spritz & it wasn't made quite right-too light on the aperol.
Overall- it's worth going one time for the view. -

Very average brunch spot. There is not too much variety but probably good enough for hotel guests. I just got the eggs Benedict which was decent. The service was good. All in all nothing extraordinary. Nice views though :)
